Polo Ralph Lauren Sued over Pocket Stitch Design

Levi Strauss & Co. filed a Complaint against Polo Ralph Lauren for infringing Levi’s trademarked pocket stitch design.  Levi’s owns several trademark registrations relating to the back pocket design(s) on its jeans including this one, which is described as a "combination of a double arcuate and tab design shown on the shape of a pocket, as indicated by a solid line."

   

Lawsuit over use of photo from Flickr

According to The Dallas Morning News, Virgin Mobile was sued in Texas district court for using a photo of a teenage girl in an Australian ad campaign promoting its text messaging services.  The photographer published the photo on flickr.com and made it available for use under a Creative Commons license.
